Love Stories // Fashion Revolution

Let’s take it slow, be responsible, maybe even commit to a long term relationship? After all, loved things are worth repairing.

Exactly a year ago, I started cold water sea swimming in the wild Irish Atlantic with some of the women in my little village. We called our morning meets #risefierce and it quickly became an addiction, cleansing us of whatever shit we were carrying and keeping us present at the moment, reminding us that while it might be challenging, we are alive and it still feels good.

One morning late spring we were joined by a group of visiting Americans, who threw themselves in to the water and out of their comfort zones with smiles and laughs and good energy and love.

The following autumn I was working in California for a week, and crossing a field at a small handmade and artisan market, I recognised a face, one of the women that had swam with us 6 months earlier. Kalen was selling her hand-dyed organic cotton and silk clothing, each piece unlike one that came before. We kept in touch, and this spring Kalen sent me this @youre_upstate tracksuit in the post as a little surprise. It is the perfect outfit for my morning swims. I wake up, put on my togs and tracksuit and head down to the beach to greet the dawn with my sisters. I love that it blurs the line between pyjamas and clothes, and that I can throw it on top on anything for ultimate comfort. Due to Kalen’s experimentation with hand-dying techniques, I know this piece is completely unique. I think I’ll love it forever.

Tell me your love stories!
